Hi there, I am looking for a piece of advice or rather your opinion concerning my question from you guys here About a month ago I met a korean man online not on Hey-Ai, but on a not AMWF-focused general dating website and I am quite interested in him, but I am confused about what he really thinks of me. We have been chatting for a couple of weeks until he asked me to go to a restaurant with him last weekend. We met two more times after that this week and got along quite well, had fun talking about everything and he always paid for my stuff which makes me quite uneasy, because I am not familiar with this but I do appreciate the gesture.
We exchange two or three messages every day and keep in touch lightly. He also asked me one time about my opinion about wanting children. Sometimes when we talk and he wants to make a point or wants to put emphasis on what he says he briefly touches my hand. These are all signs that lead me to believe that he is interested in me. But on the other hand this is so different from what I know about meeting someone you might be interested in. He always has such a neutral facial expression when he greets me.
Normally I can tell if someone finds me attractive from the way they smile or their faces shine when they communicate with me. But he is really neutral in his expressions and only smiles when we are talking about something funny. I hope you know what I mean. The situation is hard for me to interprete. I know and read about the different ways of using facial expressions or generally showing emotions between Asian and European culture but it is still difficult to handle when confronted with this in reality He grew up in Korea and only moved to Germany at the age of 16 so I guess that this could be the reason I get so many mixed signals well at least judging from my german point of view.
How can I tell if he is attracted to me in a physical way and does not only intend to get to know me on a friendly level? Yes, it seems like he likes you. I wouldn't put too much weight into his neutral expressions. Some people are stoic. From what I've read here, Korean men in particular can come across as cold and detached. I'm half-Korean and I generally don't fake smiles. So when something does make me smile you know it's genuine. I've read Western women somewhere in this site making comments about how Asian men are "difficult to read," and I think that's the case with you.
As I was reading the first half of this thread, I can immediately tell that this man have spend significant time living in South Korea. It's pretty much the norm in South Korea for men to pay for everything - even if two people aren't "officially" dating. Does he like you? It's difficult to tell based upon this thread - he does sound like he does, but maybe not. There's nothing special about Korean men asking a woman if she wants to have a child in the future. Is it a sign that he's interested in you when he briefly touches your hand?
I will say definitely it is. Korean or Asian men in general hold this "neutral facial expression" as you wrote, but this doesn't always mean that he's not interested in you - the fact that he's keeping touch with you shows the potential as well.
Many Korean men think they are being very attractive by keeping their facial expression "neutral. One thing I can tell you is that if this Korean guy is interested in you, he's probably deathly afraid inside, wondering whether a white woman like you will be interested in him - Korean or Asian men in general, often believe that it is perfectly normal for an Asian men to be attracted to a white woman while opposite isn't.
It is possible that he may think you are only interested in him as a friend. From what I have read from Western women's experiences with Asian men, it is a Western woman who have to literally spell out that you are interested in a man.
Maybe it is you who need to start slowly and occasionally, but carefully flirt with him, and briefly touch him as he does with you. In other word, when he briefly touches your hand next time, put your other hand over his hand that touches you. Compliment him. Or even tell him not in bashful way about certain things that you don't like about German or other Western guys - this may be a "pleasant" surprise for him. That immediately can seriously crack some of invisible burden that may exist in him toward you.
All really good points here already If he really likes you he will Pandai Visitor. I think he likes you, he probably just doesn't know how to show it.
Just keep doing what your doing. Time can only tell. Last Edit: 4 years 10 months ago by patches. Soolyne Visitor. Ask him directly. Last Edit: 4 years 10 months ago by BobbyMcGee. This kills the fun too early. I kinda like it when I'm really into someone and I have to figure out if it's mutual or not.

My boyfriend is a grown 36 year-old man who lives fearfully of his own mother. She is nothing but sweet and happy-go-lucky…usually. But if he is too busy to run an errand for the family or if he passes up on a higher-paying job, we all better make a run for it before getting an earful. That being said, Oma is the most generous woman and is just about the best cook on the planet. If you have an Oma in your life, consider yourself lucky.

You know your situation better than we do! Dating culture in Korea is a little bit different than many other countries when it comes to the early stages of dating. There is no stigma against approaching a cute guy and making the first move. Most Korean guys are big fans of constant communication via text message and instant messaging apps on their smart phones. Unlike dating cultures where there is a stigma against texting a romantic interest too soon for fear of seeming too interested or clingy, the norm in Korea is to be updating your significant other as often as possible.
